Project Type
Web Portal
The client is an Indian government-backed initiative focused on promoting river heritage, cultural traditions and environmental conservation. Its remit spans tourism promotion and public awareness, reaching residents, domestic travellers and international visitors who want to understand the history, ecology and living culture associated with India's riverine regions. Its content needed to speak to schoolchildren, families, researchers and travellers alike.
Government awareness programmes in India have traditionally relied on events, printed material and on-ground campaigns, which limit reach and leave little lasting record. The initiative wanted a credible, permanent digital home that could tell its story in an engaging way, appear prominently in search results, and remain accessible to audiences using low-cost smartphones as well as desktop browsers. A well-built portal was central to turning offline awareness into sustained public engagement.
This project was delivered under a Non-Disclosure Agreement. The client operates in the Government sector (Tourism) and is based in India.
Before the project, the initiative had only a limited online presence. Content about heritage sites, cultural practices and environmental programmes was scattered or unpublished, with no structured information architecture and little that search engines could index. Tourists looking for trustworthy information found nothing authoritative, and the programme's environmental message was not reaching the public at scale.
The new platform had to serve a very diverse audience, including local visitors, domestic tourists from other states and international travellers, which made multilingual content and accessible design essential rather than optional. It also needed to load quickly on mobile networks across India, present rich photography and video without slowing pages down, and be maintainable by government staff without specialist technical knowledge.
Offline awareness
Digital engagement
PapaSiddhi designed and developed a content-rich web portal using Vue.js on the front end, a PHP back end and a MySQL database to store structured heritage, tourism and environmental content. The information architecture was planned around how visitors actually explore a destination, with clear sections for heritage sites, cultural stories, environmental initiatives and visitor guidance, supported by intuitive navigation and internal linking.
An SEO-first architecture underpinned the build: clean URLs, structured headings, optimised metadata and fast, performance-focused page rendering to help the portal rank organically for tourism and cultural queries. Interactive storytelling sections and media galleries supporting both images and video bring the river heritage to life, while multilingual support widens access beyond a single language audience. The interface is fully mobile-responsive and was built with accessibility in mind for diverse user groups, including readable typography, sensible contrast and keyboard-friendly navigation, so the portal serves citizens and visitors regardless of device or ability.
Improved public engagement and increased digital reach for tourism awareness initiatives. Achieved significant increase in online visitor traffic and improved accessibility of government environmental content.
