The client is a destination-focused travel technology business serving visitors to Palm Springs and the wider Coachella Valley in Southern California. The region attracts leisure travellers, festival-goers, golfers and weekend visitors from across the United States, supported by a dense network of independent hotels, restaurants, spas and attractions.
Visitors increasingly plan and adjust trips on their phones, often in the moment. The client saw that the area lacked a single trusted mobile guide connecting tourists with what was happening locally, and that independent businesses were losing bookings to fragmented, generic platforms. A well-designed companion app could improve the visitor experience while channelling more trade to local operators.
This project was delivered under a Non-Disclosure Agreement. The client operates in the Travel sector (Tourism Tech) and is based in United States.
Information about Palm Springs experiences was spread across tourism websites, social media, review platforms and individual business pages. Tourists had to piece together events, dining and accommodation from many sources, often with outdated details, and there was no simple way to discover and book in one place.
The app needed to aggregate curated content and real-time event listings, integrate hotel and restaurant booking, and provide reliable maps that worked even in areas with weak signal, such as desert trails and outlying attractions. It also had to run smoothly on both iOS and Android, support timely push notifications, and give local businesses an authentic, trustworthy listing presence.

Unified travel companion app
PapaSiddhi built a cross-platform mobile app in Flutter, giving iOS and Android users a consistent, native-feeling experience from a single codebase. A Node.js back end with MongoDB manages curated destination content, local business listings, events, reviews and user data, with a flexible document model suited to varied listing types.
Google Maps integration powers interactive maps with offline-capable caching for areas with patchy coverage, while the Booking.com API supports integrated hotel booking alongside restaurant reservation flows. A real-time event listings calendar keeps visitors informed of what is on, and push notifications highlight timely offers and events. A curated experiences and attractions directory was developed in partnership with local businesses to keep listings authentic, and a user reviews and ratings system builds trust and helps visitors choose. The interface was designed for quick, on-the-go use by travellers exploring the region.
Delivered a 4.7-star rated app with strong organic downloads. Partnered with 50+ local businesses and improved tourist engagement metrics significantly. Increased local business visibility and booking conversions.
Transformation Summary
Fragmented tourist info → Unified travel companion app
This project was delivered under a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA). Specific client details, business data, proprietary workflows, and project credentials remain confidential. Screenshots and live URLs are available upon mutual NDA execution.
Request an NDA to see full detailsFlutter gave one codebase across both platforms, which for a regional tourism app roughly halved build and ongoing maintenance cost without a user-visible compromise. Native is still the better call for apps leaning heavily on platform-specific hardware or the newest OS features, which this one did not.
